INTRODUCTION
Mammoth-San Manuel Unified School District is located in San Manuel, Arizona just an hour northeast of Tucson, in the very beautiful and scenic San Pedro River Valley. Our district is a center of a learning community that offers outstanding academic opportunities, competitive interscholastic athletics, enriching afterschool and summer programs, comprehensive community education programs, and courses offered through Central Arizona College-Aravaipa Campus. There are approximately 1250 students enrolled in grades PK-12. Our district is made up of four schools; San Manuel Junior/Senior High School, grades 7-12, First Avenue Elementary, grades PK-3, Avenue B Elementary, grades 4-6, and Mammoth Elementary, grades PK-6. We employ 260 teachers and staff; we are the largest employer in the area.

  • The mission of the District is to provide comprehensive, success, oriented learning activities for young people in our schools. The opportunities must be designed to develop the person's potential in the areas of academic ability and vocational awareness, cultural appreciation, physical well-being, social development, and community contribution.
    GOALS
  • Sustain improvement at each grade level for mathematics achievement
  • Sustain improvement at each grade level for reading achievement
  • Sustain improvement at each grade level for writing achievement
  • Utilize data in ongoing assessments
  • Market the school district and the community

      6.  By 2013-2014, all students will reach high standards, at a minimum, attaining proficiency (meets or exceeds        standards) or better in reading/language arts and mathematics.
      7.  All limited English proficient students will become proficient in English and reach high academic standards at a        minimum, attaining proficiency or better in reading and mathematics.
      8.  By 2005-2006, all students will be taught by highly qualified teachers.
      9.  All students will be educated in learning environments that are safe, drug free, and conducive to learning.
    10.  All students will graduate from high school.
